Cultural Intelligence
This guide provides some information and links to Cultural Intelligence resources available to Bart Health NHS Trust staff as we begin to create a more culturally intelligent workforce. Cultural Intelligence (CQ)™️ is the capability to function and relate effectively in culturally diverse situations/ contexts.
The Trust will be launching CQ masterclasses from May 2022, these will be published via a range of communication channels, please look out for more information on this.
The Knowledge and Library Service have subscriptions to a range of national, regional and locally purchased healthcare and clinical content and we'd like you to get the most out of each resource. This guide should help you to use the resources more effectively by providing links, information and advice on the available tools and resources.
If you have a question regarding anything in this guide or you are encountering issues accessing any of these resources, then please contact us at bartshealth.library@nhs.net
Celebrated annually on May 21st, the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development is an international day supported by the United Nations for the promotion of diversity issues.
The day highlights the richness of the world’s cultures, but also the essential role of intercultural dialogue for achieving peace and sustainable development.
On the 3rd of May, the Trust came together in a Trustwide conversation to launch our Cultural Intelligence programme focused on developing a workforce who lead, manage and engage inclusively through help with the “lens” of Cultural Intelligence.
We are in week 4 of the programme and we caught up with Bernadette and Tatenda ahead of the 21st of May to share the benefits of creating a culturally intelligent workforce and the incredible impact it has towards helping us become a truly inclusive organisation but also the impact it can have on our patient care.
