KnowledgeShare connects health care staff with their local NHS library and knowledge service, providing staff with evidence searches or individualised updates of newly published health care information based on your professional interests.
How does it work?
Log in to KnowledgeShare using your OpenAthens login
Current Awareness updates: click Edit Profile and enter in your professional interests - you can be as broad or as detailed as you like - and confirm how often you would like to be updated. Alternatively, you can tell us what your topic interests are and your evidence update will be personally configured by a professional librarian to ensure you only receive relevant, high quality information.
What kind of information will be included in updates?
The health care evidence from KnowledgeShare is drawn from a wide variety of sources, including local publications and events, published research literature and national guidance and policy documents. Each item is selected, categorised and summarised by professional health librarians to save you time.
How often will I be updated?
Your librarian will email you a consolidated update either weekly, fortnightly or monthly, so you are not overloaded with updates. If you see anything in the update you want more information on, simply reply to the email and ask.
Evidence Searches: select Evidence and Request an Evidence Search. Complete the form as fully as possible, the more information you provide the more relevant the results you will receive, then click save. Your request will be assigned to a professional librarian, who may contact you to clarify the nature and purpose of the search.
What kind of information will be included in evidence searches?
Evidence search results are drawn from databases of published research literature and national guidance and policy documents. Searches are carried out across multiple databases relevant to the search topic. Databases searched include Medline, EMBASE, CINAHL and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews.
How will I receive results?
Relevant results are compiled into a search report and emailed to you within 14 days. The report will contain links to the full text, where available, or contact us to get documents that are not available in the report as full text.
